This Friday, Baltimore synth-rock dramatists Future Islands will release their new album As Long As You Are. The album comes three years after The Far Field, their last one, and after the members of the band have been devoted attention to side projects like frontman Samuel T. Herring's pretty-great rap debut Back At The House.

It's been two years since Future Islands last album, The Far Field, and outside of a one-off track that they released last year as part of Adult Swim's Singles program, the Baltimore band has been relatively quiet. But over the last week they embarked on a brief Northeastern tour to work out some new material.
