Kyuss Lives! bassist Nick Oliveri says that a chance meeting at a French festival led to the celebrated stoner rockers' reunion tour."It all came about when John was doing a Garcia Plays Kyuss tour, while my band Mondo Generator and Brant band The Bro's happened to be playing at the same festival as him in France," says Oliveri. "We were on the same stage at Hellfest and ran into each other. John asked if we would go up and play, and it was a lot of fun. It felt really nice to play with old friends, to play those songs felt really good. It just kind of went from there and it's been a lot of fun so far."The band - whose line-up includes vocalist John Garcia, drummer Brant Bjork and new guitarist Bruno Fevery (who replaces original member Josh Homme) - are halfway through their European tour. And according to the bassist, the stoner rockers have had fun dusting down the band's back catalogue for their European trek."Scott Reeder's bass playing on the last two records [1994's Welcome To Sky Valley and 1995's ...And The Circus Leaves Town] is amazing," says the bassist. "It's challenging for me, which is a lot of fun. "This tour is cool, because I never got to go to Europe and play with Kyuss," he adds. "I did some States stuff with them twenty years ago, but it's really new and fresh and exciting for me to do all of the tunes."Catch Kyuss Lives! at:APRIL02 London Forum (sold out)03 London Forum (sold out)04 Glasgow ABC (sold out)05 Manchester Academy06 Bristol Academy (sold out)Tickets for the Manchester show are available from www.aloud.com .
