Kaiser Chiefs unveil ‘Falling Awake’ – the first song from their new album

The follow-up to 2014's 'Education, Education, Education & War' is set for release later this year

Kaiser Chiefs have unveiled ‘Falling Awake’, the first song to be taken from their forthcoming new album.

Click below to watch the video for the song – directed by former NME photographer Danny North – which will feature on the band’s as-yet-untltled sixth album, which is set for release later this year, and will follow 2014’s Number One album, ‘Education, Education, Education & War’.

Foo Fighters recently announced that Kaiser Chiefs will support the band at an upcoming UK gig. The two groups have previously toured together in South Africa and South America, with Ricky Wilson and co now opening for the band at Sunderland’s Stadium Of Light on May 25.

Kaiser Chiefs recently unveiled a video skit in which Dave Grohl gives them a fiery pep talk at one of their gigs. The video, played before the encore of the band’s arena tour, sees the Foo Fighters frontman storming into the Kaiser Chiefs dressing room and delivering a rant at each band member. “What the fuck was that?” Grohl screams. “What a fucking load of shit. Bunch of amateurs, all of you … You’re the Kaiser Chiefs, act like it.”

Kaiser Chiefs will play headline sets at this summer’s Camp Bestival and Kendal Calling festivals as well as appearing at Benicàssim in Spain.
