The FIFA World Cup begins in Russia on June 14

Will Smith and Diplo have teamed up to release the official World Cup song.

The rapper has teamed up with American artist Nicky Jam and Kosovo singer Era Istref for the track, and it’s arrived on streaming platforms on Friday (May 25) while the FIFA World Cup begins in Russia on June 14.

According to Billboard, Nicky Jam’s manager, Juan Diego Medina said that Jam and Smith were recently in Budapest putting the final touches to the song.

In other World Cup news, Punk supergroup The Tallywags released their unofficial World Cup anthem ‘Charge Of The Light Brigade’, in a bid to help England on their path to World Cup er, glory.

The band consists of former Sex Pistols and Professionals drummer Paul Cook, Tom Spencer from The Professionals and The Men They Couldn’t Hang, with Toy Dolls singer Olga and Wildhearts bassist Danny McCormack completing the line-up.

He’ll be backing Belgium to lift the cup, after native stars Vincent Kompany and Kevin DeBruyne played a huge role in winning the Premier League for Gallagher’s beloved Manchester City.

“I’m gonna put a Belgium flag over the life-sized cardboard cut out of Matthew McConaughey which sits on our front room window,” the ‘Holy Mountain’ singer told Radio X.

He added: “I think I’m going to go for Belgium”.
