Green Day announce ‘Turn It Around: The Story Of East Bay Punk’ home release and vinyl soundtrack

The punk-rockers premiered the doc in May last year

Green Day‘s documentary, Turn It Around: The Story Of East Bay Punk, is coming to Blu-ray/DVD, with an accompanying vinyl soundtrack.

The legendary punk-rockers executive produced the film, which is narrated by Iggy Pop. It focuses on the renowned punk rock area Gilman Street in San Francisco and includes interviews with members of Guns N’ Roses, Neurosis, Spitboy and The Beatnigs. Corbett Redford, who is also working on the film Year Zero: The Politics of Punk, directed the project.

Now, Green Day have announced that the film will be available to own from June 22 – and promise some unseen footage.

Meanwhile, Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong recently hit back at suggestions that the band will break up.

In April, the frontman released his debut LP with his new band The Longshot. The project left many fans questioning the current status of Green Day.

“Some of you are asking about Green Day and if there’s anything wrong, or if we’re breaking up,” Armstrong said on Instagram. “The answer is: no.”

He added: “I am having some fun with some of my friends. I am what you call ‘a musician’. Some people have a hard time calling it that sometimes. With that said, shut the fuck up. You’re a fucking whiner, and I’m playing music because that’s what I’m supposed to do. That’s what people that play guitar, and drums, and bass, and they sing – this is what we do.”
