You can buy Joy Division and New Order Dr. Martens boots now

The new designs feature artwork from records like 'Unknown Pleasures' and 'Power, Corruption & Lies'

Dr. Martens have unveiled three new boot designs that feature Joy Division and New Order artwork.

All three designs appear on the brand’s classic 1460 boot, which the official website calls “the original Dr. Martens boot”.

Only one of Joy Division’s two albums are represented, with a black pair of boots featuring the pulsar wavelines from the cover on their sides and toes. New Order’s 1989 album ‘Technique’ and 1983’s ‘Power, Corruption & Lies’ have also been given the DMs treatment, with the former a pink and purple boot, and the latter black with the record’s flowers covering the lower half.

Dr. Martens’ website describes the Joy Division boots as “explosive, raw and intense – much like the sound of the band.” The ‘Technique’ boots, meanwhile, are said to “represent the hedonism of the time.” The artwork on all three of the boots was designed by Peter Saville.

The boots are available online now and cost $155-$160 (£116-£119). Currently, they do not appear on the UK Dr. Martens website.

Meanwhile, last year New Order and former Joy Division bassist Peter Hook discussed his views on Manchester’s current music scene. “I think for the first time I would have to admit that Manchester has lost its way a bit muscially,” he told NME. “It’s up to me as the ambassador to plug the good bits until the greats bits come along.”
