30 Second To Mars guitarist Tomo Miličević has quit the band

"This is the best thing for me in my life and also for the band."

30 Second To Mars guitarist Tomo Miličević has announced his departure from the band, after weeks of fevered speculation.

Miličević’s official departure comes after he was absent on a string of dates during the group’s European tour.

In a statement posted online, Miličević said: “I don’t really know how to explain in a note how I could have come to a decision like this.

“But please believe me when I say that this is the best thing for me in my life and also for the band.

“Please don’t be sad or angry over this and most of all, please don’t be divided about this, this is a good thing and will be good for everyone.”

Singling out bandmates Jared and Shannon Leto for praise, he wrote: ” I want to say thank you to Jared [Leto] and Shannon [Leto] for allowing me the privilege to be a small part of their dream and to have been able to share the stage with them for so long.

“I’ll cherish the moments we had together and I’ll have love in my heard every time I think of those days until I draw my final breath.”

Although the reasons for Miličević’s departure are yet to be revealed, it is not believed that there are any acrimonious circumstances.

Miličevic was absent during the band’s UK tour earlier this year, when frontman Jared Leto hit out at Prime Minister in a message from the people of Manchester.

The band were performing at Manchester Arena this weekend, when Leto invited a fan on stage to take control of his Twitter account for a one off message.

After an amusing exchange with audience participation they settled on “Hey Theresa May, please call an election or resign (FUCK YOU). Love Manchester).”
