Nas premieres Kanye-produced new album ‘Nasir’

It's here...

Nas has held a listening party in New York to debut ‘Nasir’, his new album produced by Kanye West.

The record began streaming late last night, but was forced to play the record twice after YouTube users reported widespread technical difficulties.

Upon first listen, the record sees Nas remaining as politicised as ever, insisting that “Abe Lincoln did not free the enslaved/Progress was made.”

Other early highlights include an appearance from Kanye on the second track ‘Bonjour’, while he also appears on the fifth track ‘Simple Things’ alongside The Dream.

That very same fifth track also sees Nas referencing a recent incident in the US in which two black men were arrested for occupying a table at Starbucks as they waited for a friend.

The record is Nas’ first album since 2012’s ‘Life Is Good’.

It also marks the latest chapter in a hugely busy few weeks for Kanye.

Last Friday, West released his joint album with Kid Cudi, ‘Kids See Ghosts’ has apparently sampled a Kurt Cobain song

The duo’s new team-up record is the latest to emerge from West’s recent work in Wyoming, which has already yielded Pusha-T’s ‘Daytona’ album and West’s latest solo album ‘ye’ which came out at the beginning of the month.
