Blink-182 postpone Las Vegas residency as Travis Barker suffers blood clots

"Drumming is my life and It kills that i can't perform for you guys this weekend."

Blink-182 have announced that they’re postponing two of their Las Vegas shows as Travis Barker recovers from blood clots.

The pop-punk icons, who began their Palms Hotel and Casino residency last month, have been forced to cancel shows tonight (June 15) and tomorrow (June 16).

“Friends, Travis Barker is suffering from blood clots in both arms and unfortunately cannot perform until cleared to do so by his medical team,” a statement from the band confirmed.

“The situation is currently being closely monitored. Due to this situation it is with great regret that the blink-182 ‘Kings of the Weekend’ Las Vegas residency dates this weekend must be rescheduled.”

Barker added: “Drumming is my life and It kills that i can’t perform for you guys this weekend. I hope to be back as soon as I can (sic).”

Although Vegas residencies have a certain reputation for doubling up as a musical retirement home, Blink are still as busy as ever – with the band confirming plans to record new material earlier this year.

Earlier this year, bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker shared photos from the studio on their Snapchat accounts.

Hoppus’ was captioned: “New Blink-182 songs day one”.

It isn’t immediately clear when the band will return to the Vegas shows, or when the rescheduled dates will take place.
