Watch Nirvana reunite with a six-song set at Cal Jam 2018

The reunion was teased by Foo Fighters last week

Nirvana reunited to perform together at Foo Fighters‘ Cal Jam festival last night (October 6). Check out the setlist and footage below.

Last week, Dave Grohl and co. tweeted cryptic hints suggesting that a comeback performance could be on the cards. “What else could we have up our sleeves???” Stay tuned….” they posted ahead of the event. The Foos also shared footage of Nirvana’s one-off 2014 performance, which was then retweeted by Nirvana’s official account.

During the final night of the LA festival, the surviving members of the legendary band reunited on stage. It marked the second time they have performed together since Kurt Cobain’s death in 1994.

Dave Grohl, Pat Smear and Krist Novoselik ran through six tracks – with Joan Jett and Deer Tick’s John McCauley performing with the band. The same line-up performed in 2014, after Nirvana’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Scentless Apprentice (with John McCauley)
In Bloom (with John McCauley)
Breed (with Joan Jett)
Smells Like Teen Spirit (with Joan Jett)
All Apologies (with Joan Jett and Brody Dalle)

Nirvana’s performance followed Foo Fighters’ own headline slot at San Bernadino’s Glen Helen Regional Park. Also appearing at the festival yesterday were the likes of Iggy Pop, Garbage, Slaves, Tenacious D, and more.

Ahead of the reunion, last month saw Dave Grohl play Nirvana’s ‘In Bloom’ for only the second time since Kurt Cobain’s death. The musician took to the stage to drum along to the seminal ‘Nevermind’ single with Trombone Shorty at Los Angeles’ Voodoo Threauxdown Festival.
