All eyes on Norway

The Cure and Sigrid are the first headliners to be announced for Øya Festival 2019, with the acclaimed Norwegian event celebrating its 20th year.

After 2018’s event featured the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, Lykke Li, St Vincent, Kendrick Lamar and many more, next year will see the Oslo festival welcome The Cure as part of their extensive 2019 world tour, as well as providing Norway’s own Sigrid her first ever major headline performance on native soil.

Other names confirmed so far are Norwegian acts Fay Wildhagen, Hollywood and Girl In Red. Many more acts will be announced in the months ahead.

Øya Festival 2019 takes place from August 6-10 at Toyenpark in Oslo. Tickets are available here.

The Cure til Øya 2019!

The Cure (UK) er klare for festival, billetter ute nå!Få band har preget og påvirket indierocken og undergrunnspopen som The Cure.

Tipped by the NME 100 as one of the most essential new acts to keep an eye on in 2018 (as well as being crowned winner of the BBC Sound Of poll), rising Norwegian star Sigrid is expected to drop her hotly-anticipated debut album early next year.
