Hear a brand new Sia song ‘Wrapped Up’, sung by Natalie Portman in the trailer for ‘Vox Lux’

The film also features music by Scott Walker

Sia‘s new song ‘Wrapped Up’ has been revealed, albeit sung by Natalie Portman in the trailer for upcoming film Vox Lux.

The movie is due to be released on December 7, in which Portman plays fictional pop star Celeste. The new song soundtracks its second trailer, which you can see below.

It’s one of a number of tracks that Sia penned specifically for the soundtrack with five-time Grammy winner Greg Kurstin.

For the film’s official score, meanwhile, director Brady Corbet enlisted the help of legendary singer-songwriter Scott Walker.

In Vox Lux Portman plays a survivor of a school shooting, whose talent first begins to show when she performs at a vigil following the tragedy, aged 13, as depicted in the trailer.

She goes on to have a huge pop career, and the majority of the film is set as “the now 31-year-old Celeste is mother to a teenage daughter of her own and struggling to navigate a career fraught with scandals when another act of terrifying violence demands her attention.”

Sia’s last major release was a collaboration with David Guetta, ‘Flames’. She also appears with Dolly Parton on the track ‘Here I Am‘, from the country icon’s album ‘Dumplin”, a soundtrack to the film of the same name released this Friday (December 30).

Her last studio album release was a festive record ‘Everyday Is Christmas’, released last November.

Though 2018 has been a relatively quiet year, the Australian hitmaker was named on BBC Woman’s Hour’s ‘Women In Music Power List‘ for this year in September.
