Pete Davidson applauds Kanye West’s “bravery” for addressing mental health, posts disturbing message

"Bravo Kanye West"

Pete Davidson has expressed support of Kanye West’s comments about mental health, praising the rapper’s “bravery”.

The comedian wrote in a since-deleted post: “Bravo Kanye West for standing up for yourself and speaking out against mental health. I can’t explain to you enough how difficult and scary it is to be honest about stuff like this.”

In what appeared to be a dig at his ex-fiance Ariana Grande, who upset West after writing on Twitter on Wednesday (December 12) that Ye and Drake’s recent beef was distracting people from her new song, Davidson said he was “disgusted” at people pointing fingers at Ye.

“We need people like Kanye,” he continued. “No one should ever point fingers at you for your bravery in speaking about mental health. I’m seriously disgusted.”

Davidson has since deleted his Instagram account.

Ye claimed today (December 15) that Grande’s “foolishness” with regards to her Tweet weighed on his mental health.

Grande has issued a response to West’s comment: “with all due respect, i don’t need to use anyone to promote anything. period. i was making a comment ab what men were doing at the time vs. women. it was a joke which i understand now was probably insensitive. i apologize if i was in any way triggering and hope u feel well today.”

In a worrying, since-deleted post sent separately after his first message, Davidson wrote: “I really don’t want to be on this Earth anymore. I’m doing my best to stay here for you but I actually don’t know how much longer I can last. All I’ve ever tried to do was help people. Just remember I told you so.”

Machine Gun Kelly Tweeted that he is on his way to see Davidson to “make sure he’s good”.

TMZ reported that the NYPD received numerous calls from people who are concerned about Davidson. The police force sent officers out to him to do a welfare check.

Additionally, Pop Crave noted that Grande appeared to have gone to visit Davidson.

The latest information at the time of writing is that police say Davidson is “OK” and at work filming Saturday Night Live.
