Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey sent beard shavings to Azealia Banks so she could make an amulet to protect him from ISIS

Well, this is quite a handful.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey reportedly once sent his beard shavings to Azealia Banks so the rapper could make him an amulet that wards off evil spirits.

The bizarre claim was first mentioned by Banks on Twitter in 2016, when she claimed that Dorsey “sent me his hair in an envelope because i was supposed to make him an amulet for protection.”

But while her claims largely went unmentioned, they’ve been reference in a new piece on the Twitter CEO by Vanity Fair.

In it, writer Nick Bilton says: “A source who worked with him told me Dorsey had sent a rapper his beard shavings to make him an amulet that would protect him from evildoers.”

Although Bilton fails to mention Banks by name, SPIN has subsequently confirmed that Banks was indeed the rapper that Dorsey sent the shavings to – in an apparent bid to protect him against ISIS.

“At the time, Banks said Dorsey promised to promote her mixtape Slay-Z in exchange for her promoting his cash transfer app Square and her crafting him a magical object that might protect him from ISIS, which had threatened Dorsey in a video earlier that year,” SPIN wrote.

“Dorsey never tweeted about the project and presumably never received the amulet.”

Banks and Dorsey are both yet to respond.

In other news, Azealia Banks recently feuded with Iggy Azalea online after she was accused of promoting detox “diet” tea.
