A behind-the-scenes clip of Alex Turner shows the Arctic Monkeys frontman singing along to Whitney Houston‘s ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’.

The footage was shared by the band’s longstanding creative collaborator Ben Chappell. The director is behind their videos for ‘Four Out Of Five’, ‘R U Mine?’ and more.

He’s also behind the visuals for their ‘Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino’ video, which is where this particular behind-the-scenes snippet comes from. Watch Turner singalong to Houston during some downtime in the shoot below.

Last month, the band’s hit song ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor‘ was used during a Strictly Come Dancing routine and fans were less than impressed.

The show’s viewers took to Twitter to criticise and celebrate the cover of an Arctic Monkeys song in Joe Sugg and Dianne Buswell’s routine

Some people applauded the pair’s “darn hot” dance and the Strictly band’s “super cute” rendition of the Monkeys classic. But others slammed the cover, saying that the band “murdered” the song.

One Twitter user, Jingle Bellinger, loved the rendition: “I say it every year, but the Strictly band are incredible. World class. They go from Robbie Williams to Adele to the Arctic Monkeys and every track could easily be the actual record. It’s so impressive. #StrictlyFinal”.

Another wrote: “The strictly house band/orchestra clearly loved doing Arctic Monkeys. Also surprised no one has done it before. Super cute #StrictlyFinal”.

A number of other people, however, bemoaned the use of the song.
