Marilyn Manson and Kris Kristofferson have joined forces for an unlikely collaboration – on a country-gospel record.
Manson shared a picture of him and Kristofferson on his Instagram account and said it was an “honour” to be invited onto the stage by Kristofferson.
He wrote: “An honor to be invited onstage with the true Star Is Born.” Kristofferson starred in the 1976 version of A Star is Born, alongside Barbra Streisand.
On Sunday at the Los Angeles’ Ace Hotel, Kristofferson invited Manson to join him on stage for a performance of ‘Why Me’ from his 1972 album, ‘Jesus Was A Capricorn.’
He was also joined by his backing band, The Strangers. Dennis Quaid and Tanya Tucker were also on stage during the performance.

Taking to Instagram, the metal icon shared photos of himself with guests Courtney Love, Yeah Yeah Yeahs‘ Karen O, KoRn’s Jonathan Davis, singer and Youtube sensation Poppy and Yoshiki of X Japan.
Speaking to NME in 2017, Manson spoke about his upcoming fiftieth birthday. He said: “I hate birthdays. I’m not good at parties, I’m terrible at parties. I don’t even know the difference between a party and a problem.”
Meanwhile, Manson recently teased that new material might be coming in 2019 via his Instagram account.
