Vampire Weekend announce Dublin gig – are UK shows coming soon?

They'll perform at Trinity College.

Vampire Weekend have announced details of a gig in Dublin this summer, with UK dates expected to follow shortly.

The band recently returned with new singles ‘Harmony Hall’ and ‘2021’ to launch new album ‘Father Of The Bride‘, before announcing a lengthy US tour.

Now, it’s been confirmed that they’ll perform at Trinity College in Dublin as part of the summer series on July 1. Tickets are on sale 9am on Friday February 15.

Reviewing the band’s two new singles, NME wrote: “There’s no reinventing the wheel here, and quite frankly, right now, that can only be a good thing. As intriguing as it is to imagine the prospect of a whackier, experimental return, Vampire Weekend’s return is entirely predictable. But that doesn’t stop it being a welcome and satisfying return from one of indie’s most beloved and wacky troupes.”

Vampire Weekend have not released an album since 2013’s ‘Modern Vampires Of The City‘, and will now end the six-year wait with their fourth LP as an 18-track double album set to drop in Spring 2019.

Meanwhile, the band were also recently spotted shooting a music video in New York with Jonah Hill.

Vampire Weekend will also be performing at Mad Cool Festival in Madrid this July, alongside the likes of The National, The Smashing Pumpkins, Noel Gallagher, Iggy Pop, Robyn, The Cure and The Chemical Brothers. Visit here for tickets and more information.
