The Raconteurs have shared a video of Jack White mixing a new song via walkie talkie from his car, giving fans a taste of what to expect from the band’s new album.
As White explains in the video, the band use an FM radio transmitter to broadcast the track, called ‘Shine The Light On Me’, to his car parked outside a studio while communicating with an engineer inside.
In an Instagram post of the footage, the band explain: “This way the artist can mix in real time, and hear exactly what the song sounds like on the radio as well, this time through the amazing sound system of a Tesla Model S.
“This speeds up the process of mixing greatly and reduces the amount of remixes that occur after artists feel they’ve “got it” in the studio, only to listen in the car on the ride home realizing that the kick drum is too loud!”
The Raconteurs announced their return at the close of 2018 with two new tracks, ‘Sunday Driver’ and ‘Now That You’re Gone’.
They have confirmed plans to return with a new album in 2019. The as-yet untitled record will be their first for eleven years after 2008’s ‘Consolers Of The Lonely.’
