Britney Spears has addressed her fans for the first time since she checked into a mental health facility earlier this month.
The singer, who announced a hiatus in January, reportedly checked into the facility after becoming increasingly distressed when her father suffered a period of extensive ill health.
In the latest Instagram video, Spears tells fans that she wants to check in “with all of you who are concerned about me.”
“All is well,” she says.
“My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to heal. But don’t worry, I’ll be back very soon.”

The caption of the video also sees Spears addressing “rumours, death threats to my family and my team” after it was alleged that fake emails were being spread by her former manager Sam Lutfi.

“Don’t believe everything you read and hear. These fake emails everywhere were crafted by Sam Lutfi years ago… I did not write them,” said Spears.
“He was pretending to be me and communicating with my team with a fake email address. My situation is unique, but I promise I’m doing what’s best at this moment.”
In January, it was confirmed that Spears was postponing her Las Vegas residency to focus on the wellbeing of her family.
It’s also believed that her sister Jamie Lynn recently underwent surgery on a ruptured colon for the second time.
A source previously revealed to People: “Her dad being sick has taken a toll on her. He nearly died and actually had another surgery a few weeks ago. He’s not doing well. They’re so close and it has been a lot. There is nothing dramatic going on with her, she just realised she needs to make sure to take time to care for herself.”
